OK, so I finally tried it. It's fairly rudimentary in design, with one round plastic table, or a large wooden one with benches, if you want to eat there. The menu is written on a blackboard, including several chicken options. I asked for one of these, but was told they had no chicken. I decided to try plaice and chips instead, but they said there was no plaice either. I asked if their scampi was frozen or fresh. Frozen. The guy suggested I had cod, which I didn't really want, but I didn't have much choice.Their English is not very good, so they speak a language I could not identify to each other behind the counter. They also can't spell some of the basic items they sell, such as "pasty" or even "sausage"!The cod and chips seemed OK, but not spectacular. Really good quality, fresh battered fish is thick and chunky, but this was quite flattened out. I would guess the chips were unextruded, but I'm not an expert! It's early days, and their stock control and presentation may improve, so I wish them luck. Any other reports?
