parking K1

I Know that  this was a post a week ago but I have just renewed my permit 10 days before we are due to pay for K1 £45 instead of K £75 . I asked about refund and was told the following, which I consider to be idiotic as every one paying from May onwards will be able to park in K1 for £45 not he £75 I have had to pay . and yes I have written to them and  to Daniel Crawford, councillor=but am not holding my breath here! below form the Parking dept. I have spoken to my manager and she has stated that we will not be refunding the difference between zone K and zone K1 in the situation you have explained below. This is because your permit will be interchangeable between both zone K and K1. Next year when you renew your permit you will be issued with a zone K1 permit.

All the K and K1 permits are already interchangeable so that's a foolish response.Theoretically, Councillor Dan Crawford is on the case - and has asked for a meeting with officers.The Ealing and Acton Gazette are also aware - the joys of twitter - and i am supposed to talk to our nice local reporter about it tomorrow.Don't hold out much hope either though it is wholly loopy and down to a poor and desultory performance by the council.

Dan complains vehemently - though not here, only on twitter - that there is nothing "theoretical" about his intervention.So maybe that was unfair. If so, I am sorry. I've bet him a Mars Bar he doesnt effect any change of policy - that should be galvanising.

Councillor Dan Crawford emailed today to say he has had a meeting with officers who say they are prepared to consider a rebate "on a case by case basis" Not sure on quite what criteria.Dan says:"I'm still waiting for confirmation of which member of staff will handle the refund requests, but, of course, I will be happy to write a letter/email of support to any residents wishing to claim a refund."So I owe him a Mars bar as soon as the first refund goes through and probably grovelling apologies as well.

Notice in today's Gazette re the transfer of Zone K to Zone K1.No evidence of any new signs in our road yet - maybe they will change them all on Monday!

I was just wondering exactly that.It's due to start next week but there is no sign of activity at all. Does the Gazette give a start date?

1st May, so they need to get the signs changed by Tuesday! The notice in the Gazette says you have 6 weeks to object. I thought the idea was to object before it was implemented - but I obviously got it wrong.

Anthony - the CPZ man - says the signs should be coming in by May 1st so it will start then.He says the paragraph in the Gazette is a standard one and is not the same as the statutory consultation and shouldn't stop anything.So maybe weare away, hurrah.
