Watermans to be moved?

I saw a post over on the EalingToday site saying that the Watermans site is to be redeveloped and the theatre/cinema etc is to be moved to somewhere else.http://www.ealingtoday.co.uk/default.asp?section=community&link=http://appasp.EalingToday.co.uk/server/app/forum/default.asp?site=2The campaign that is referred to in that post is to try to ensure that Watermans has a Brentford centre location. However, I have not seen a campaign to keep it where it is - on the Thames.We go for the films, an occasional curry (before or after a film) and a seat by the water. OK - it is muddy but we like the tidal Thames.It appears that Brentford council is arguing that the popularity of Watermans means that it has outgrown its current location. That does not ring true with me - we always find a parking space (although sometimes in the darkest reaches), we always manage to have a curry before or after the film (if we fancy it) and there are always seats (and often right beside the water). Is it overly full at times that we do not attend?I would hope that showings in the cinema sell out sometimes - that is a sign of health.

Just fyi there's no such thing as Brentford Council - it's part of Hounslow Council area (since mid 1960s), run from an HQ not even in reasonably accessible Hounslow town centre but in less accessible Lampton - and that's perhaps part of the problem - it's as if Acton was run from the back end of Northolt - however bad you think it is anyway being run from central Ealing.

Watermans Brentford development plans on view to public later this week for 3 days 19th, 20th & 21st at St Peter's (behind Morrisons).  For latest info see following link:-        http://www.mybrentford.com/brentford2.0/latest#page-topW3'ers please give all the support you can muster to keep Watermans in Brentford and ideally at its present site on the 65 bus route.  I think the plans show it being moved to the far west end of the Hi Street - large concrete block south of CostCutters.  If it's not easily accessible to its current patrons from Acton, Ealing, Chiswick, Kew & Richmond - we are its core base customers - it will whither and die.
