Free ballroom dance workshop Sat 12 May

My husband Peter Hothersall will be leading a free workshop, suitable for beginners, on Saturday 12 May.  Peter is a former competition dancer, who appeared with his formation team on the original Come Dancing TV programme.  The workshop is hosted by Oaktree Anglican Fellowship, at 216 High Street (formerly the Age Concern building).It runs from 10.00 - 3.00 and you are welcome to come for all or part of the day.  Walk in, waltz out!  Hope to see you there.

bit of a self-conscious jiggle on the spot - though you should see my mastery of the basic minuet and galliard steps - extraordinary but not very useful.

Took over an hour even to be allowed to join the queue, then three hours to get to the front. Wallace & Gromit was the first to sell out!

Really?I got into the queue in 10 minutes, to the top within an hour and got everything requested including two season tickets. But didnt try for Wallace and Gromit I don't think - was just being a slave to my sister-in-law's serious and expensive prom habit while she went off to a dress reheasal at ROH.I think I get a Bacxh prom or two out of it.

A big thank you to Peter and Gill for organising today's dance class. Only made the last hour but some good 'back to basics' from Peter. Hope everyone else enjoyed it too.Several of the people there were from my regular Friday night haunt at Pam Leigh's session in Hale Gardens, including Pam herself. Pam's an established star of Acton's ballroom scene, and it's thanks to her skilful coaching that I'm well on the way to having only one left foot. Oh, and there's no Victor Silvester at Pam's nor, as far as I know, any Brylcreem.
