Station Cafe Appreciation Thread

Someone made a disparaging comment about the Station Cafe in another thread.Ok, it's not the place to go for a gourmet experience, but it does decent cafe food, the guys who run it are good people, and they do great coffee at £1 a cup (contrast with Lavelli- marvellous cakes and bread, but shockingly bad coffee at £2 or so a cup)

It's quite busy - which is a good sign.Lavelli's coffee is fine as long as you instruct them exactly how you like it (cappucino, small china cup, extra shot, no chocolate in my case)

My whole family enjoy The Station House.  The present owners have done a good job in building the business up and are a lovely bunch.  The pizzas are good and the menu generally seems to be growing and improving.

I agree with you that the coffee in lavelli's is awful,waited 20 mins for a cup of tasteless foam.

You shouldn't have to ask for an extra shot to make a cup of coffee taste of coffee

Alternatively, ask for it in a smaller cup - similar effect

Coffee is never going to taste great without decent beans and know-how, clearly something Laveli's needs to take on board. (Dare I say it - the Aussies usually get it right). Amen.

To be perfectly honest the coffee came in a smallish cup .
