We have a load to get rid of. Does anyone know of a charity shop which takes them?

Is it worth waiting to see if Sara gets permission for her bookshelf at Acton Central Station?

That reminds me - tfl due a call...if youcan't wait then the Oxfam book & tape shop in Ealing specialises and the one in Chiswick too I think

Most charity shops take books though only Oxfam has specialist book shops, as far as I know.

Oxfam in Ealing or Amnesty bookshop in King St in Hammersmith

Put them in the bookcase in the foyer of The Rocket or on the charity bookcase in the checkout area of the Acton Homebase.

Healthy Planet will take books - they took all the ones the CCA didn't sell at last year's carnival (and even came to my house to pick them up!). They were also responsible for that massive 'swap' that took place in a warehouse near the John Lewis distribution centre (near the Park Royal cinema complex) - I donated a printer. The person I dealt with is the founder Shaylesh Patel: 07880 788 865.

I Often take mine to Charing Cross Hospital. I have also given them to Blue Cross at the Acton Market.

Good to hear that Dave takes books to places other than charity shops, such as Charing Cross hospital. I send mine, along with others collected from friends, to the National Library in Gambia.

Thanks for excellent ideas. Donated most to British Heart Foundation in Hammersmith. Will keep in mind for future clear-outs.

The Problem I have with Scope is that they get all their stuff for free, but the price of 2nd hand books is ridiculous, about £3.50 is normal for a paperback
