Hi KevinWe've been having quite a lot of work done recently upgrading our attic room from a fifth bedroom into a sort of chill-out area, and have been using a chap called Guy Chaperlin. He came to us through personal recommendation and we are very happy to pass on his details as a very good and reliable chap. He's actually a general builder, but is also a very competent plumber (although not technically 'qualified'). He's done all the plumbing in our new refit - which included replacing (and switching position of) the bath, loo and basin with a new suite; installing a new shower; and a new radiator. He has a team of qualified specialists who he uses on anything that he is not comfortable doing. And perhaps best of all, the quality of his work is very good. He's very prompt; he doesn't 'job hop' unless an emergency comes up; he telephones or texts to tell you if he's been delayed; and, we think, he's very reasonable on cost.As a new, and small, business his turnover doesn't require him to charge VAT - which helps price-wise - but, almost inevitably, he doesn't have potloads of money with which to fund projects while he waits for his bills to be paid. So once prices are agreed, he does ask for prompt payment. Depending on the project, this might include up-front payment for materials; stage payments; and final payment of any outstanding amount once the project is finished. Although perhaps not ideal, we think this is a fair method of working, and one that should be respected without too much huffing and puffing! But that sort of thing you can discuss with him.His number is: 07958 396423 and if you'd like to come and see what he's done for us, please contact me. Either on here, or on 07913 972576 or 020 8932 0078.Hope this helps and good luck with your project!Paul Higham55 Goldsmith Avenue
