Hi Jean. I am one of the two administrators for the 'We Love Acton' site on FB, not to be confused with the 'LoveActob' site which is a local art group and gallery exhibition site. I am sorry you feel left out. There is no need to be. The site is for ALL Actonians who have lived, worked, or gone to school in Acton and remember their communities, events, friends and neighbours from past times. The members themselves requested the school sections to find old friends faster. We all have faces and places in common and even if you have only lived in Acton a few years, there may be a friend or neighbour you have lost contact with who could also be known by somebody in the group. There is also first-hand knowledge of some of the history of the area from people who were there at the time! Members have even opened their private family albums and posted photographs and some of the other general photos have been used from public internet sites with no copyright issues. Our reunion on the 2nd September gives people a chance to catch up and swap numbers and is aimed at being a fun day for all. Hog Roast, Pie & Mash, licensed bar, raffle. Again, this was requested by group members of which we now have 2,300. Join in Jean you will find a friend in here no matter what part of Acton you come from.
