I always carry a first aid kit, warning triangle and fire extinguisher in the car - and have, over the years, had to use all three! But the 2x breathalysers sounds a bit daft...Back to the original question: I am a great fan of Tom Tom (on my second) but can't recommend a current model as the one I'm using is, according to them, a 'heritage' model i.e. so old they won't mend it if it goes wrong! But I would recommend their quarterly map update system: it costs more than buying a new road map every year, but means you are never driving with out of date information. Try checking out Tom Tom versions on Amazon: they often have useful buyers' reviews.
