Thank you for these suggestions. My plans changed so I don't need one now. Something I noticed when surfing car hire firms generally is how big the insurance excess can be, e.g. £500, £600, £800, i.e. how much you are required to pay toward the cost of a repair should you have unexpected damage to the car. A couple of firms seemed to have a lower excess by comparison, or gave you the option to pay more on the daily charge to get it significantly reduced, and some didn't give this level of info on their websites. Just something I thought I would bring to peoples' attention.
