Bonfires - again!

People burning rubbish in this area seems to be gettng worse. This afternoon someone in Birkbeck Avenue, off Horn Lane, has a smelly bonfire going!It not only stinks,is unhealthy for people with health problems but one can't even leave washing out on the clothes line to dry. It is very annoying to have to close windows when we would prefer to leave them open and let in the fresh air.I would certainly report the culprits if only I could make sure exactly which property is responsible.I don't mind the odd barbeque but this habit of burning everything and anything in the garden should be stopped.Very annoying!

Would it be somewhere between the 5th to 8th houses on the right side, facing up from Horn Lane.  Even my next door neighbour is complaining about the stench.

Nothing wrong with bonfires. They used to be a common daily occurrance on the street years ago. What's the matter with people now?

If you suffer from asthma, sinus problems, breathing difficulties etc then you will understand why people cannot tolerate it!There really is no excuse for burning stuff in the gardens causing obnoxious fumes, it is totally anti-social.Nicola, I guess you are right regarding the location.

Nicola, I guess you are right regarding the location. Thanks, I'm right between the two of them.  Of course accidents could happen with a hose pipe while watering the garden.

I too remember when bonfires used to be a daily occurance of people 'recycling' their garden cuttings.  The law used to be that you couldn't do it during certain times, but other than that it was allowed.No problem if it is simply wood or leaves you're burning but I agree if it's noxious fumes then that's not right.http://www.ealing.gov.uk/info/200228/pollution/565/air_pollution/5Interesting to see that council rules are very vague on this.  Maybe so people pay the council to remove their garden rubbish instead of just burning it.  Wouldn't burning it make more environmental sense?
