Acton Arms opening 6th September at 6pm

Good morning - we're delighted to announce the first phase opening of the former Redback Tavern. Your new pub, The Acton Arms opens for business on the 6th September from 6pm. We are very excited to show you what we've been up to and tell you more about what the plans are for the restaurant and events space. Pleasing as am watching a neighbour star in Carousel at the Barbican on the 6th and couldn't really attend. Am looking forward to it though.

I am planning to head down there.Looks like they are still having trouble removing the red paint. Mind you, you hardly notice it now we have that fugly new building where the bus depot used to be!; )

Judst been in  Shabby chic springs to mind!Spoke to manager who was very engaging but admitted no market research had been done about prices - cheapest glass of wine was £4!And they are just over the road from the Red Lion & Pineapple - last bastion of cheaper drink in Acton.Well see!

We popped in also.  Still work in progress.  Decor consisted of school chairs, desks, old school photos on walls, trophies and books.  Was greeted by Max, one of the Directors, who said the kitchens should be up and running in a couple of weeks.  Average price for a main will be £10 - £12.

I think it will make a good addition to Acton.  They had three real ales on last night and they were about £3.50 a pint.  Not as cheap as the RL&P but competition for The King's Head and the George.  There's a massive space to sit outside at the back which is very unusual for Acton.  They will need to sort out the furniture - I felt that I was back at school and I'm not exactly tall!  It will be interesting to see what the food's like and what they are going to use the function room for.  It really filled up later on.  I certainly think there is a market for it.

Popped in on Saturday night. Fairly quiet. Pleasant enough and decent beers. I liked the outside area; well designed. You could see the vast space still to be done up through some double doors. This will be the challenge as the pub will feel deserted if it's just opened up all the time and of course pubs need a buzz and a bit of a crowd.I liked it overall - hope they succeed.

No idea, but I was hoping they'd be a good music venue.  Having visited I don't get the feeling that's what they are aiming for.To be honest there is not that much that is unique about the place, but I'll wait until they're properly set up before passing final judgement.

The garden is massive. I think this will be what will make the difference. If they can make good use of the garden space they are on to a winner.
