Ealing Council Tops
Figures put the borough top of the tablefrom the front page newsI am surprised that this bus lane at Morrisons car park exit provides approx. 6100 fines pa A neat little earner don't you think ?Enforcement Activity 2011-12Enforcing Authority Bus lane PCNsEaling 24,690Lambeth 22,152 and cyclists." Merton 21,800Transport for London 20,530Camden 19,470 cont'dSteyne Road bus lane (outside Morrison's)There is a case to justify the removal of this restriction altogether; I can not recognise the length of the lane ((UNCONFIRMED 100yds and bisected)as significant enough to assist rapid bus movement south, and then mostly west or east after the lights. The article says "and cyclists." How do cyclists benefit from thiis restriction? The main complaint against this bus lane however is that it needlessly prevents shoppers reasonable exit from Morrison's and thus causes tailbacks in Horn Lane as a large number of the channelled vehicles wish to turn left (EAST) at the lights. Delays result for all including buses for the length of Horn Lane, JEZABEL is tempting motorists to use the empty inside (bus) lane to proceed south and east into Acton High Street thus clearing the congestion caused by that bus lane.
