Mill Hill Road - what's it like?

HelloWe are considering buying property in Mill Hill Road.What's it like to live in with regards to car and foot traffic? Noise? Rubbish on the street? Any people like to simply 'hang around'?It appears to be a nice street.All opinions appreciated!

It's a nice road but bordering on areas which I in the past have not found so safe i.e. south Acton Estate,  but the estate is I think being regenerated.  I am sure you will get a few more answers tomorrow from those that know that road better than me.It is close to Acton Town Tube so quick into central London.

Plenty of information on the area here:www.millhillparkacton.orgSouth Acton estate isn't nearly as bad as it used to be; I walk through it regularly now (during daytime) to use the Overground from South Acton station. Lots of rebuilding going on there so housing will be a mix of public and private in future years.Mill Hill Road carries a deal of foot traffic twice daily during term time from youngsters coming and going from Acton High, but traffic is not bad at the moment. Whether that changes when the proposed daft changes are put in place at the top of Gunnersbury Lane remains to be seen. The Mill Hill Park Residents Association has been lobbying hard on this.

yep  its  great  and  with  south acton  high rise  on  the  way  down  see acton gardens website prices  where i  live for  flats  and houses  have  seen  a big  leap

I don't live in Acton but have been fascinated by the area ever since PANORAMA broadcast the BEST DAYS documentary on Faraday High School in 1977, about which I wrote my book THE WORST DAYS.  Nice to hear, from people who live in Acton today, that it's getting better ; it provides an informative counter-balance to the negative comparisons that one inevitably hears from time to time between Acton past and Acton present.  Certainly the media was extremely unkind to Acton following that documentary - 35 years ago!  But I agree, the new developments in South Acton are leagues better than what they are replacing.
