Black History Month Speakers Wanted for Local School
I am a teacher in a Hammersmith and Fulham secondary schoolFor assemblies and PSHE we try to use guest speakers that reflect the diversity of our school population. This is particularly important for events surrounding Black History Month. We have struggled to find good quality female speakers from the black and Asian community.There are a range of topics that we need speakers on. These include contribution to collective worship from Christian and other faiths, expert information on historical and cultural events and experiences, careers talks, contributions to PSHE or other useful areas. We can tailor a talk to a group of interested pupils (as few as 10) or it could be aimed at one or several year groups (upwards of 300 pupils). Talks could be as short as 5 - 10 minutes or up to an hour. Talks have to take place in the school day.
