Acton's chemists

Had to fill a very standard prescription today and it was much too difficult.The crown street pharmacy - my least favourite but theoretically the most convenient - was open at 0830 but said they not only didn't have but couldn't get, due to supplier problems, the emollient required.The nice People in the high street next to the arcade, keep a really limited stock and couldn't get it to me till tomorrow.And Boots, where I know they stock It, the pharmacist just didn't voter to show up in time to open the shop at 0900. He was very relaxed about not being available to start work till 0915 - whatever the theoretical opening time. I wasn't and Have been late and discombobulated ever since.Yet the local PCT won't allow a chemist to open in Churchfield road as it says we are well served already. Doesn't feel like it.

There's the one in Church Street, near the Health Centre? Also the one next door to what used to be the bakery but is going to be an estate agent.

I think the chemist's next to the former Corner Bakery closed down.  Boots is probably my least favourite.  A bit further, but the chemist on Uxbridge Road by Hillcrest Surgery always seems very busy.

I like Alisha Pharmacy on Acton Lane (just beyond the bike shop) but I know there's one on Acton High St (the McDonald's side) which people like... The staff at Acton Boots are usually helpful...

The one by McDonalds I had never even noticed, let along been in before, but was able to supply some throat pastilles I'd been looking for for months, so well worth a try - very helpful.

The High Street one was nice but doesn't stock hydromol... the Boots pharmacist couldn't be bothered to turn up. I don't think there is another apart from Crown St: the Lloyds on the High Street which was opened with the staff from the Churchfield Road one - when that closed down - and was supposed to supplement the rather hopeless crown st Lloyds, closed down many months ago.

Sara, there is another chemist - in Church Road, before you get to Acton Health Centre. Not too far out of the way if you are walking along from Crown Street.

And if anyone is using Acton Town tube, there is a chemist on the parade which, again, was able to supply something nobody else had - helpful and friendly staff there.

and another further down The Vale near the little post office. Very helpful when I went in there yesterday.

Thanks - must try the Acton town one.there's also one in Horn Lane near Grafton Road but I wasn't going that way yesterday.
