Good luck with your new life, Ian.We had a whole lot of clothing that was too good to throw away, too vast to sell on Ebay (too much work for the price) and I'd rather give my money to charity so they can claim the tax back, so didn't want to put it into charity shops. So, we emailed http://www.clothesforcash.com and it couldn't have been easier. Ok, we only got £29 for the whole bag of clothing and you can't put certain things in there nor can they be broken or torn/worn out, etc. However, the collection was easy, so was payment. Do take care though as there are some negative feedback comments on some forums about them but I hadn't read them before I used them and I've been impressed. They did say, however, that some of my clothing wasn't acceptable, and perhaps it wasn't but as I just wanted rid and it was so easy to do, I didn't make a fuss nor care. I plan to do this again.It's coming up to Christmas so perhaps a garage sale, well advertised, might be the appropriate timing.Books.....isn't there a book swap club in Acton that you could donate to or, if you'd rather, there are some online companies who buy books from you but I have to say they only take really popular books, or rare ones. Failing all of that, several schools and churches around Acton have Christmas Fairs they might want goods for in order to sell for charity? Might be worth asking about.Good luck.
