TNT deliveries

I received two letters today via TNT - one for me, one for the wrong address.  After two phone calls to TNT, they arranged for someone to come and pick up the wrong letter and redeliver it.  Good job I don't work and was at home, but it was a bit of a nuisance.  I understand that it can be reposted, but when the correct recipient would receive it remains to be seen.

There was a scam a while ago in which something would be delivered to the address on the label but the details printed inside did not match. The recipient would then be contacted and told that there had been a mistake, so someone would collect it. Someone then collected the item and disappeared. The original recipient then received a series of demands for payment for the package which had been ordered by an unknown person and correctly delivered to the address as requested.

I notice that my bank statements/NHS letters and my regular circulars are all being delivered by TNT now so they must be doing something right. Everything seems to be arriving on time and certainly way before the Royal Mail postie makes his way up my garden path......

Hi Ellie how do you know the TNT is on time? When I look at what they deliver it has no date stamp on it and I have noted some of it is very overdue.

Jill. These were letters I get every month and in fact TNT were a couple of days earlier delivering them than Royal Mail used to. All my others are circulars from various companies that have no regular delivery dates.

Interestingly enough, a magazine that I subscribe to uses TNT, and almost every issue has arrived late - about a week after it has appeared in the newsagents.

I think it depends on your delivery person.  My experience has not been great.  They did not appear to understand the concept of delivering letters to individual letter boxes not on the floor.
