Dirty Filthy Acton - Again!

Lynton Court, the block of flats in Horn Lane have commercial bins at the side entrance, next to the Hire Shop.Each time I pass I see piles of rubbish, overflowing bins, broken furniture and so on. I have seen people rummaging through this mess, probably looking for something to sell. People have been seen urinating in this area.It is a wonder the residents or the owners are happy to have this constant eyesore on their doorstep.Surely this can only attract vermin and foxes?I have no idea who owns the block or whether it has something to do with Ealing Council.Why are people so filthy???

While you're on the subject, isn't it about time someone applied some fresh paint to Springfield Dental Surgery extension/pod, thingys on Horn Lane?

Fred I agree with you, we have often walked past there and noticed how filthy the pods are!  Soap and water might do the trick!

What about all the leaves that have been swept into the middle of the pavement and, just left in piles, for the wind to blow around again.As for the dentist, went off them years ago.  The inside is not much better.

A few years ago with the help of the council I got those Euro bins for Lynton Court.  Previously there were about six dust bins. Also the grotty HSS shop never cleans its frontage either. I threatened publicity in the summer and they had a tidy up but have done nothing since. For them it's a once a decade thing.  A note saying you have seen rats often has results.

HSS is back to its usual state. Basically a wild garden and litter trap. I cannot believe after it was weeded and tidied up in the summer it hasn't been touched since. I wonder if I shouldn't get some wild flower seeds and sprinkle them around HSS. I hadn't spotted Lynton Court's mess that Jean talks about. Must steal myself to look next time I pass by.

it's interesting that I've been told by Ecolab, who are dealing with rat problems on the estate where I live that the main cause of rats are my bird feeders.According to them, rats are particularly fond of bird food (not specified what sort).  I have been stopped from putting food out for the birds, which I am very upset about.  I just don't believe that bird food is the main cause - maybe a general clean up in Acton would help.

Rats love bird food and any food at all.  So when we leave out refuse bags early or not well bagged, it's no wonder we have rats.

We had rats in the garden last year and the pest control told me to stop feeding the birds. Not seen any rats this year. Not many birds either unfortunately.

Angela Although I had a bit of luck this summer, in that HSS actually replied. A few years ago when we wrote to the then chairman Alan Petersen we got no replies and nothing happened. Well that man is now Executive chairman of Enterprise.Says it all doesn't it

Our collection day is Thursday. We still have bags full of leaves whgich Enterprise left 1 week ago.I did report this but this afternoon the bags have still not been collected.

I contacted Ealing Council regarding the neglected frontage of this poperty but they are apparently unable to take action.It looks even worse now with overgrown weeds!

As this is Bank Holiday weekend, collections are one day later.  (ie, no collection on Bank Holiday Monday).You should have been informed by a flyer through your front door.But.... it is the same every Bank Holiday.

Fred, can I suggest you send some photographs to Ealing Council's Environmental Health Department.Suggesting that perhaps they should get on with their yearly inspection of this property.Say you are worried about the interior if this is how they keep the exterior.That should produce a result.

Perhaps we should have a 'Filthy Acton'  Gallery.Vote for a winner each month.Afterall, Google Streetview has done half the work for us.  Just a thought.
