Acton Christmas Fair: Give and get!This year's fair will be on The Mount (in front of Morrison's/St Mary's Church), London W3 on Saturday, 8 December from 10am to 4pm.Warm clothingThis year, as well as being able to buy presents, watch performances and take your children to visit Santa's grotto, you'll be able to help others, too.We'll be having a stall where you can donate items that will enable others to keep warm during the depths of winter. Please bring warm clothing, including coats, scarves and gloves. Also needed are sleeping bags and unused personal items such as shaving kits, aftershaves, shower gels, make-up.The stall is being run by St Mungo's homelessness charity, which supports people sleeping rough in Ealing, working in conjunction with the police's Acton Central Safer Neighbourhoods team.The rest of the fairSanta will be in his grotto, giving a FREE present to each child who visits him. There will also be lots of FREE family activities, including face and nail painting and an 'instant nativity play' in which all children can take part, costumes provided.We've now filled our two giant marquees with craft stalls. Here is some of what you'll be able to buy:· Bags and rugs· Ponchos· Jewellery· Luxury body products – butters, scrubs, salts· Natural lip balms· Prints and cards· Wreaths and Christmas decorations· Cakes and biscuits· Candles· Football booksThere will also be community/charity stalls with tombolas, second-hand jewellery, books, presents, calendars and diaries.You don't only have to come to give and buy – you'll be entertained as well. The following have confirmed that they will be performing:· Acton Hill Church gospel choir· Derwentwater School Choir· Stardust steel pans· Acton Music Collective· Acton Ballet School tap dancers· Polish children dancers· Ukuleles and singers from APPLE· Demonstrations from Amanda's Action Club· Street dancing workshop by Society DanceThe fair will end with the announcement of the winner and runners-up of the Acton Best-Dressed Windows Competition.The Acton Christmas Fair is funded by Ealing Council via grants from Acton Central and South Acton ward forums.
