Peeping Tom/burglar Acacia Road

I had someone at 630 this morning trying to get through a small open window in my flat on the corner of Acacia Road and Cumberland.The lights were on and it must have been clear someone was in.I slammed the window shut, but half an hour later a man rang the doorbell (later 30's, white, grey hoodie), and informed me he had seen someone hanging around my windows half an hour ago and asked if i was worried.Very odd - he didn't give a decent explanation of who he was or what he was doing there.Have reported to police.

Susan, thanks for that.  Must have been a little disturbing.  I have a peephole in my door (easy to fit) and never open it unless I know the person outside.  May be wise to have one fitted.  Regards.

Please also be aware of a white van seen in the West Acton area early this morning driving very slowly down Saxon Drive looking into front gardens....or so it seemed.

Sounds very suspicious to me.  Many people have lights on timers etc to give the impression of occupancy.  Maybe the guy ringing on the doorbell did so to see if you were still in.  I think if he was genuine he would have visited you immediately after the sighting and not have waited half an hour.

I think the police would have been very interested in both these incidents as burglary is big problem in Acton at the moment
