Another joke letter from the council Re: Enterprise

Dated 3 December 2012Council Ref 64127 / SR_922852Dear...RE Your stage 1 Complaint - Street Cleaning & RecyclingThank you for your complaint received on 20 November 2012I have forwarded your complaint to our contractor Enterprise; they have informed me that they have had the senior street cleansing supervisor look in to this complaint and he has confirmed that the crew should be following the refuse and recycling.  Due to changes in process the crew should all now be following the recycling trucks enabling them to clear all mess and spillages.  The crew have been spoken to and all issues should now be resolved.They would like to offer their apologies for any inconvenience caused by this matter. Nicola, that response is much the same as mine - assuring us that the street cleaners will be following the recycling trucks! What a joke - street cleaners before the recycling again today, and no plastics collection at all.

This is a standard 'off the card' response to a complaint -a repetitive complaint is treated more seriously (should be passed to a supervisor for personal response).  So keep complaining - I think it is after 5 complaints about the same thing that it is considered 'repetitive'.

It's nice to know that a Stage 1 complaint is just swept under the carpet, as usual.Collection done, not a sweeper in sight, plenty of spillage on the pavement. VERY UNSATISFACTORY.

I fear lots of organisations do not take stage one complaints very seriously.... and big ones only put any resource into stage 2 and 3. Most people don't persist whatever so it can be seen as a poor investment to do much early on.I'm not defending this, merely saying it is widespread.

Maybe it is just me but hasn't the response to complaints  improved? Twice since Enterprise took over, one of my rubbish boxes was not collected on the correct day. I sent an e mail to the automated service and the van turned up the following day. I don't remember that sort of service last time.
