Acton Central Ward Forum 6th Feb.  Demand our Councillors get positive, instead of excuses.  I guarantee they will get a hard time from me.  I'm sick of the lack of positive attitude from this bunch of misfits.  I'm not looking to "out myself", but if needs must, then so be it.

We keep doing the same old thing and getting no result.  I only came into the CCA meeting at the last moment due to other commitments, but I have to say I didn't think Mr Bell was too keen to work on this subject.  Did I misunderstand?

Reading about 'Olde Acton' it is interesting to note that in 1706 Acton was held to be blessed with very sweet air!

In the 1860's the air was not considered 'sweet smelling', far from it - a quote from 1866 '....total want of drainage in the vicinity of Acton Green, where sewage festers and gives off most offensive smells'. Yuck!

One programme I saw reported that Kings are handing out some portable test kits. One might help identify the actual cause(s). Unfortunately I also saw that some sources have official exemption.

PLEASE lobby London Borough of Ealing AND Acton  folks!The dreadful, polluting Horn Lane Industrial Estate is earmarked to remain as is, and be even further embedded under the "Local Development Plan/Framework" (or whatever it's now called) for the next 25 years, due to the complete lack of any foresight whatsoever by the Planning "Powers That Be." The area around Acton Main Line, and certainly north of it, is screaming out for regeneration and this part of Acton could and should be transformed into a wonderful, attractive addition - if "The Planners" had any common sense, let alone true devotion to bettering our living standards/situation.
