I see someone is in there ripping the place to bits, haven't heard what it is going to be.

Where is it? (I'm a newbie)

As I reported in the What's New in Churchfield Road thread: work started this week to turn it into a charity shop (supporting an Ealing based charity for those with mental health problems which operates on Uxbridge Road premises.) Apparently they no longer have the space for the shop. It's due to open next month and has had its change of use (from restaurant to retail) approved.

Hi David, its on Churchfield Road next door (I think) to La Viande the butchers

Many thanks. I must have walked past it - I use the butchers. I'm an East London boy and still getting my bearings in West London. Loving Acton though. I heard a rumour (on here?) that the butchers may be closing - I really hope this isn't true. We all need to use it rather than the supermarkets. Great little gem of a place.
I do hope it isn't true either. But at the moment we are not eating much meat and so not much money is flowing his way from us. But I would be happy to buy something every week, even if it goes in the freezer for the time being. Got to keep him going through the lean January period. I think I will ask him to stock some oxtail or osso buco stuff for cheap warming delicious stews.

Great idea. Maybe we need to spearhead a campaign for real shops - and get more people into the habit of spending away from the supermarkets and majors. This is the only thing that will save our much loved butchers and bakers etc.
When I spoke to the butcher he said he was taking over from the person he rents from, so hopefully that hash't changed.
He's had a week's holiday but I think had a strong trading Xmas - and was doing well in barbeque season.Have just ordered two dozen sausages (chicken and lamb and beef) we are seriously addicted to them.I'm all for supporting local shops - especially as we now have some nice ones - and local restaurants, pubs etc too.
I went into the butcher's today and bought some of his gorgeous sausages again. They are delicious and hardly any fat in them at all.

Hopefully all the paper work will be done soon.I'm going to turn downstairs into a cutting room and will hold butcher courses.I'm not going anywhere.

This is great. You are such an asset to the neighbourhood. I just want to say to everyone who likes warming British food that I bought some oxtail from Tim yestereday and he has ordered some osso bucco for me for next week. When it is cold we love big stews with a glass of wine in the stock.
