Dumped christmas trees

It never ceases to amaze me each year how many christmas trees are dumped by the roadside. These people dont wont a plastic tree in their house, they go to the trouble of going to select and get their tree home to decorate. Yet after xmas they just dump it. Dont they know or care that the refuse men wont take it away?Yet they could take it to the collection area on Ealing Common.Just as bad as people who fly tip old mattresses and fridges.

To help people dispose of real Christmas trees there will be a free collection service provided with weekly refuse and recycling collections from Monday 31 December until Friday 18 January. Trees trunks must not exceed 20cm in diameter and any trees over 6ft will need to be cut in two. Alternatively people can recycle real Christmas trees at some of the borough’s parks and open spaces this January. A full list of these locations will be available on the council website.

There were three Christmas trees left on our road this week - amazingly, they all disappeared with the rubbish/recycling collection yesterday, just as they were supposed to!
