fascinating pictures of Acton before the great war
Santa Claus gave me an amazing book for Christmas. A comparison of photographs of out beautiful town before the first world war, compared with a view taken in the same spot last year. It is amazing to see what has changed and also in some cases, how little has changed. If you are interested in history and the "then and now" theme I think this book is fantastic. "Acton through time" by David and Amanda Knights ISBN 978-1-4456-0867-9. I'm sure there has already been a post about this book when it was published in 2012 but if there was I missed it and it was a lovely present to receive down the chimney!
