No on-line parking permit renewal for K1

I received an email from council informing me that my permit would soon be need of renewal. Brilliantly the email contained all the information needed for renewal and directed me to an online form to fill. Easy! So, I filled in the form, pushed the button and up popped the message "Wrong kind of permit". Puzzled, I checked everything, but every time I filled in the form I received the same response. Finally I phoned the parking department. Oh, I was told, you are not in Zone K but Zone K1. So? The form does not work for K1. So why did you send me the email directing me to the form? That was locked in in August and we can't change it. What!! You are sending out emails that you know are incorrect! Only to K1, they work for everyone else. Unbelievable!!!I posted my paper permit renewal form yesterday.

I renewed my K1 permit a few days ago - on-line - and the permit plus the new 1 hour visitor tickets that I ordered at the same time, arrived in the post yesterday (in separate envelopes).

But I am K1 and the online system worked brilliantly.I wonder if you WERE K but are now K1 and if that makes a difference.Wholly hopeless for you though.

sheldon, I hadan identical experience last week. What was also interesitng was that the letter I received with the passwords for online etc said it was one figure, but when i completed the new direct debit option, it came back as half that.I checked and was told that the new figure was correct as I was zone K1 now. I also noticed that my residents permit number had changed.I suspect everyone that has changed from K to K1 will have the same problem when they try to renew their permis online using their old Residents number supplied with the initial communication.Carl

I did warn of this in a posting on 13th December, as we had to renew our permit before 31st December and experienced this problem. My post said..."A word of warning to those who were in Zone K and are now K1 - Our parking permit runs out at the end of December. we received an e-mail from the Council reminding us, and giving us a PIN to use so that the permit could be purchased on-line. This is where the system failed - they had not taken into account that our Zone had changed, and the PIN would not work to log-in. So a phone call to the parking department, a trip to Ealing and the correct forms then sent.Yet another fine mess the Council is in......."Obviously my post wasn't read by those about to renew!

Can anyone help explain the front page message.  It seems that we won't be able to buy visitor vouchers on the actual day.  Does that mean if someone wants to visit me unannounced or I need an emergency plumber (for example), they won't be able to park?
