Another new shop?

Hi,Anyone know what the new shop is going to be where the DIY shop used to be on the section between Frank's Cafe and the fishmongers. Saw in today and it looked like it might be a coffee shop - lots of dark wood cabinets/ display shelves

Word has it that it's to be a Middle eastern bakery/coffee shop.All  details for all new businesses welcomed - am writing an article for the CCA newsletter and am a tad short on facts!(proves I'm a proper journalist)And there's the HUGE Fountain cafe just opened in the High Street where the travel agents used to be next to Bombay Bistro. Anyone tried it?

There's another new middle eastern place on the High Street -  I think it's called the Palm Lounge or something similar.  Not tried either though.

I passed on Thursday when a lovely friendly English woman was opening the shutters. She informed me that it would be a cafe/patisserie shop an emphasis on quality and freshness. She wants to attract local families and make that end of Churchfield Road a pleasant and desirable place to go. I do hope she succeeds. The shop is a work in progress but looks big and bright with beautiful lights. There may be hope for that end of Churchfield Road after all.

How much cake can we eat?OK, I know a lot and it doesn't ALL have to be red velvet crack cake.Still, that's a lot of purveyers of empty calories for one street,Hope there's enough business for all of them.

The shisha cafes operate to a different market - not for ladies wanting to have a cup of tea and cake.

Yes, it seems very fashionable to bake cupcakes but that doesn't mean there's the market or appetite for them.I hope they succeed though and best of luck to them.  That end of Churchfield Rd certainly needs a lift.I see the old '3spice' is to be called TAJ but they really need their landlord to sort the pigeons.  That kind of mess doesn't look good outside any restaurant!
