It leaves such a sour taste.Buy a property, gerrymander the system, get planning permission, trash the neighbours and then leave with the cash.I still am unclear how this ended up getting through under Ealing Council - who had opposed it previously.

I doubt it was corruption - if that's what is implied. I think once the local residents were seen as less of an organised threat after Mark moved away, the planning committee took the easiest path - which is to grant an application on its third attempt.Don't you sometimes think the "anything for a quiet life" approach is as insidious and undermining as being positively evil?

"  three quarters of a million just for planning permission?  "89-91 Shakespeare Road /Allsop Nah, I reckon it's because it says  'Located in the London Borough of Ealing'also'Situated to the North of Chiswick in the heart of the popular residential area known as Poet’s Corner'But they've sneakily left out the word 'Acton' !!
