another development in north acton please not

Is it just me does north Acton now loom out of the sky like gotham city. There is no infastrucrure shops can't cope drs not taking on new patients etc surely enough is enough maybe batman can help

I think it was the site of the old lgr factory but all this development is getting ridiculous the area can't cope

I think the next site is where Landis & Gyr (?) had their single storey canteen.There is already student accommodation in use, so has anyone seen the projected huge numbers of cyclists heading along the A40?

It would be good to see more of a mix of residential units and not just student accommodation but this scheme does have a small retail element to it also. It is a good location for dense residential units though because of the close proximity of the Central Line.It would be good to see a masterplan for development over the goods yard at Acton Main Line to tie in with when CrossRail arrives - residential with retail/ school and playing fields on deck over the tracks? It would be good to see something that helps deal with opllution in the area.

mmm i'm concerned about what the building will look like but i think that putting students there is a good idea.Those places weren't selling and it might revitalise that area a little.The castle pub would probably benefit from having more local students and those students may then settle in the area or set up businesses there when they finish.Most people i know have a bit of fondness for where they lived in their student years.North Acton would benefit from this i reckon.

The new highrises are the view out of my window and I love it!  My favourite building is the red one with the wonky windows. I really like the design.  I think it's a great place to build needed accommodation, students or not, and I hope will revitalise the area.  Let's hope someone takes on the shops below, although that's a bit of an unknown with Westfields 10 minutes away.I can imagine The Castle are delighted and it's good to see a pub getting a bit of a boost.

There was a suggestion that the large new retail space nearest to The Castle could be taken by Waitrose, perhaps they are now hoping that their home delivery service will cover the area.

Waitrose Home Delivery Service already does cover that area. They have a large 'virtual store' in Victoria Road, where my home delivery shopping comes from!

The plans I've seen are to redevelop the whole of the NEC site sandwiched between the road and the cemetery.
