Anyone tried the Taj in churchfield road?

Just had a menu from them and they do a Veggie Balti!Of all the menus we have not one place listed a veg balti until now Is the food there any good?

I go to Acton quite often to meet my friends. We always go for an Indian. We normally go to Bombay Bistro as it is so good. A few days ago, we thought we'd try the Taj for a change. Very disappointing in all respects. Ok, it is cheap (bringing ones' own wine, etc.) but the quality is just not up to scratch.  Plus the restaurant is infused with this awful blue light which gives one a headache. From now on, we will be back at Bombay Bistro which has never disappointed us.

I have never understood the fuss about Bombay Bistro. The food I have had from there has been mediocre at best. I was a fan of 3Spice and was sorry to see that go. If BB is trying to be innovative, it is change for the sake of change, for me it adds nothing to the food. I haven't tried the Taj yet, I looked for the menu online but couldn't find it.

I love Bonmbay Bistro and have never had a bad meal. And their food always looks so tempting and pretty. But it's a very different experience from Anokha or Taj.

We had a take away and was very disappointed nowhere near as good as Zeera

I almost always think takeaways are disappointing - even from places I really love.Can see why they are used when there are baby-sitting issues or the like but otherwise think it bizarre - and often not a good test.Do people have takeaways in preference to actually going somewhere?

yes! Zeera is fab but a bit expensive i find.
