URGENT ACTION NEEDED: Derwentwater Nursery School
As part of the proposed (and yet to be finally approved) expansion plans for Derwentwater Primary School the nursery will almost certainly have to move off site for at least a year.This will be disruptive enough but what is worse is the complete lack of information from the school about this. The teachers have been told they cannot talk about this and the first we heard about it was at the open day for the expansion and we were told that the options for temporary relocation were:1/ Maples - no idea how or where on that site it would happen and how it would work with Maples Nursery itself.2/ South Acton somewhere - which would make it really difficult for parents with children at the Primary and Nursery and also be incredibly hard for parents used to walking children to school from the main catchment area.3/ Ark School - there was a mention of using space at the new Ark school - again this wouldn't be that easy for parents with children at the Primary and Nursery.We have contacted the school asking for information and also requested an urgent meeting.If you have a child who is remaining at the Nursery or you have applied for the Nursery please get in touch via here.
