Weird recycling advice required

So the spring cleaning has thrown up some questions:1) Can you recycle those metallicy looking packages that coffee and tea come in - they are silvery but feel like shiny plastic?2) I have a number of containers which I don't know what to do with - tins essentially that came filled with tea and the like (usually spiced Xmas tea -yeuch!) Can they go in recycling - in which case what part? Or has anyone a use for them?

Not sure but this is what I would do:1) If they don't scrumple like silver foil, chuck in your black bag.2) Would try them in with the bottles and tins in your green box and see what happens. They certainly disappear when I put them there.

One of them is I think. One frpm Betty's - the spice tea - and an Arsenal one which had a mug in it and is quite cute....but is cutter and I am a sworn enemy

My family are sworn Arsenal fans. I don't really see the point. But it's clutter and has to go.Becky says they will make fine paintbrush holders - so that is their fate.

http://www.recyclenow.com/what_can_i_do_today/can_it_be_recycled/metals/foil.htmland Reuse is better than Recycle for the tinsI noticed that at Christmas time there were cake tins for sale    Large biscuit tins are useful for lots of things  We have wax crayons in one and coloured pencils in another  They are useful for home-made cakes and biscuits which just come in cardboard packets  I used a lot when we were members of Ealing 135We've always kept sewing needles in Strepsils' tins and Granny's shirt button box was a rolling tobacco tin  Neither company sells their products like this any moreYou don't have to buy something especially designed for everything!At the end of their useful life there is the green recycling box
