Angela Malik Supper Club

My partner and a friend went to a supper club at Anglea Malicks last night - I was supposed to go but had to work late. Despite having a nice time she thought it strange that Angela wasn't actually there and hosting it herself. Is it too much to ask to have the chef in the kitchen in her own local restaurant when she is the one throwing the party? I would have been rather disappointed if I had gone. Apparently the staff who work there and the food were lovely though.

As far as I'm aware Angela doesn't always host the cooking classes etc herself. Think last time I looked this was mentioned on her website/twitter page. But I can understand if you didn't know why you would be a bit miffed

I guess she cannot do everything.  She is usually in there when I go though and very friendly and chatty.  I would have thought the main thing is your partner and friend enjoyed the night,  staff and food,  isn't it?

Agree you can't expect her to be there all the time. I had coffee there yesterda while she was running a class in the kitchen and she came in during a break to say 'Hello'

I certainly don't expect her to be tied to the kitchen and in there every hour of the day, but I think if you host an occasional paid-for supper club, most people would expect you to be there. I've been to several in various locations across London and if it's Chef X's supper club, the chef is always there. However, the other half says the food and staff were lovely.

I confess to being baffled at why you are so irritated by this,  you did not go.  Your otherhalf did and their friend (I think you said) and they both enjoyed the evening so why are you so miffed?
