Car hit in Morrison's - drive drove off

If you're the owner of the blue BMW estate which was hit in Morrison's car park yesterday (Thursday) at 3.50pm, please contact me if you wish as I not only witnessed the offending car driver hit your car and drive off but followed him, got his registration number (a blue Peugeot 306, W reg) but he got stopped at the level crossing, with me behind him, so I got out and had a word with him.  He was aggressive and dismissive, so I got back in my car and made a note of the reg number.I cannot bear the distain of such offenders.  Irresponsible, I'm-all-right-Jack, no-one's looking, it's-not-mine-so-what's-the-harm kind of person.  I went back to Morrison's car park and waited for the damaged car owner to appear but they didn't and I had to go (I had my 5 year old with me, say no more, bless her, she was very patient).Let me know if I can help as a witness.

Thanks Rosco.  I think my little girl may be a new breed......since she was 3 she's been pointing out fly-tips and littering.  She even has her own litterpick.  She was in the car with me and I was concerned about possible aggression but as the level crossing was filling up quickly, I thought I was pretty safe and said what I needed to, then walked away when the "attitude" started.  Always have one's own safety in mind first.

Well, you're at fault of course, you impinged on his Human Right to cause damage and then make his own decision to drive away from it.

Well done Angela. Maybe you should call 101 and report this in case the damaged car's driver doesnt see this

Well done Angela...Easy to say in hindsight, but maybe better to have given details of culprit to Morrisons customer service and your details as witness, not have confronted culprit as the type who drives away is likely to be a nasty piece of work, and left note on windscreen of victim to contact customer service.

Yes, would have reported it to Morrison's but that meant parking again with my 5 year old and you couldn't get a space for love nor money.  I also had frozen goods in the car and waited 20 mins for the driver to appear.  Will email Morrison's.  Did think about the Police but decided to head back to Morrison's first.

Should have left a note on the car, with the reg plate.Chances of them being a reader here extremely slim!

Yes, thanks for your ideas.  If you could have seen the scene in the car park that day - I was in the way as it was, nowhere to park, getting other drivers angry because I was in the way......assuming I had paper with me and I could have parked, wonderful idea.  Should have done a lot more I guess, but you had to be there to know it was a .......car crash!
