noisy neighbor

Hello, Its been almost a year since a new neighbor moved below and been noisy. I tried to welcome her, and be  good neighbor same time I asked her many times to respect the fact I am her upstairs neighbor and she needs to stop the noise. To cut it short; she and her big son constantly bang their front door at different hours even late night when they go out or come in. Shouts and bangs inside the house and some of the noise she makes is so obvious done on purpose. I have complained to council many times, and I had enough of this nuisance. My 7yr old daughter wakes up from her sleep each time the neighbor bangs her front door, she feels scared and cries. Why should I allow my daughter feel frightened? Any advise????

Some people seem to think that the only way to shut a front door is to swing it closed behind themIt took me quite a while to get a teenager to stop doing this  I remembered early every morning when I was woken up but had forgotten by the evening!  Sometimes pushing/pulling a door with force doesn't work either as it bounces back open - far better to push/pull it closed and then check it is actually closed

Can't see that advice helping with the noisy neighbour though...Have you talked to your landlord? Presumably that's the council from what you say. There's a housing department and they may intervene

If you and your noisy neighbour are renting your properties, you will have a lease.  Contained within the lease should be an item on 'unsocial behavour'.This is what you need to take up with the landlord.If you both own your properties then you need to take it up with the Noise and Nuisance Department of Ealing Council.
