New wine shop opens Sat

Looked through the window on my way home tonight and the new wine shop on Churchfield road is looking good ...with Tim the butcher back lets ensure we support these local enterprises I'll be transferring my wine buying Restuarant next or is that too much to ask ??? Must be a market for one rather than the fired chicken takeaway option

Re pizzas, those served at the Station House are already superb – proper Italian dough bases, excellent fresh toppings, cooked to a tee...Look forward to paying Park and Bridge a visit when it opens.

Food at the Station House is super. We go there a lot in the summer after days out for a delicious pizza or a burger. You can sit outside and avoid the football and people watch instead....

Restaurants?  Two Indian restaurants there already, plus the Station House and the Rocket which both do excellent food (and have separate areas where you can avoid the big screen).

My better half just texted me to say she walked past the wine shop today and they now have a pile of great looking CHEESE in the window Suddenly there is a reason to leave East London and come to Acton.

That is even better news than wine....Can I abandon Mortgage and Bankrupt in Turnham Green Terrace for a truly local supplier?This depends on whether they will stock 36 month Comte in early December. Oh, and Stinking Bishop. And Epoisse

Always great to know what people would like. We've started with some pre-cut cheese from our supplier - which means I can get some Epoisses in now. Plan is to start pre-cutting ourselves in the next month or so, so we can offer Stinking Bishop, a blue cheese and - in winter - a Comte.

Just eaten the most fantastic Epoisses (my favourite) bought from Park & Bridge yesterday. Perfect ripeness and flavour.Ate it with a pear, not crackers, and it was fab.
