NOT IN ACTON - what do you do about  suspected food poisoning from a restaurant ?

We had lunch in the Kings Cross area today. It was delicious - except I thought the chicken was undercooked and ate very little of it. Husband and son ate rather a lot and noticed nothing wrong. Now both feel terribly unwell: husband retching etc. All very unpleasant.So what do I do? Apart from making comforting noises ovvie.Do I call the restaurant? the environmental health people?Of course I can't be sure it was this place but...

Yes report to Environmental Health Department.Call the restaurant and get them (if you can) to make a written record of your complaint.Get the name of the person you speak to,  try and get the Manager.Keep your receipt for the meal as proof you ate there.Do hubby and son need Dr?  Make sure they are hydrated lots of little sips of water.Are you hoping they will resolve the problem pay compensation?

I have written to environmental health in Islington and Camden - its difficult to tell which it is in.I haven't called the restaurant yet. Husband now in bed drinking weak, black tea and feeling sorry for himself.I want them to put it right - I am not really looking for compensation and I don't suppose we would go again so a free meal etc isn't an incentive.Interestingly, I just found this review about the same place online - from the 5th of this month:"Its dark in the bar, I receive a plate of chicken. I put a piece in my mouth- under the spicey coating its evidently raw. I go outside. I puke. Whilst vomming, my better half negotiated an apology and a refund. I will not trouble them again."

I am sure you will call the restauarant,  hopefully the more complaints they get they may cotton on that raw chick chick is a no go.I hope your hubby and son feel better soon.

Took your advice and rang the restaurant.The response was not rude - but it was fairly dismissive"I haven't heard of any problems with the chicken today"Maybe he has on other days.Will see what environmental health make of it.

I wondered if a crafty soul would trace it (and I can guess how you did it!) - should have known it would be you, Richard!Jigsaw identification - it's a fair cop.No, I wasn't going to name and shame unless I hear dreadful things from environmental health.And most of the reviews were fine - and it has - or had in early 2012 - a 5 in scores on the doors - so we couldn't have guessed.
