Art & Craft Festival - 18th May, 12-5pm

There's an Art and Craft Festival at St Dunstan's Church on Saturday 18th May from 12 - 5pm.  There may still be stalls available for local artists and craftspeople who wish to showcase their skills and work, so please contact the office on 020 8740 1383.  Many people are already exhibiting and, shyly, I am one of them, showing and selling my pop-cakes, in all shapes and sizes!    I believe there are a wide variety of other arts on sale too.Entry is free.

Inside they are cake - either crack cake (yes, really!) or chocolate usually or vanilla if requested, mixed with cream frosting.  On the outside is candy and/or chocolate.  Children and adults love them.  They usually sell around £1.50 but if more intricate/elaborate then they can sell up to £3 each, although I've never charge that myself.  I love making them!

Am just thinking husband's birthday cake...Could one have a base of chocolate cake and then loads (and I mean a lot) of these sticking out? Choice of crack cake or chocolate? Heaven! Just as well it's months away and the no-carb diet has 8 weeks or so to run.

Very happy to talk to you about it, Sara.  So you mean a chocolate cake underneath with lots of these on top?  The problem with that would be the pops need something to stick into and cake underneath isn't strong enough.  We usually use styrofoam, oasis or a cake-pop stand.  However, happy to talk and suggest.

Bang goes the waist line...again!  It took me ages to get from a 14 to a 12, and here I am being tempted by such luxuries.That crack cake, oh, the addiction and, the chocolate, just pure indulgence.

A timely reminder of the Arts & Crafts Festival at St Dunstan's Church, Friars Place Lane, W3 from noon until 5pm tomorrow, Saturday.  Entrance is free.  I've been told there are numerous stalls with local artists displaying and selling.  Beverages and food available too.
