Hotmail and "We can't connect to Outlook at the moment. Please try again later."

Anyone else experiencing this ongoing & utterly infuriating problem with Hotmail?The "old" Hotmail was reliable and worked perfectly well, however ever since it has been "linked" with Outlook, as some sort of "improvement", there are constant problems of the above kind where it just freezes.Typical Microsoft, if it works fine let's muck with it and make it "better".

Yes Rosco. Both hubby and I (different laptops) are having problems every day since the new Outlook.Takes ages to connect to the page and then ages to load when you click on a folder.I am pretty patient....Hubby....not so.

The demise of Microsoft can't happen fast enough for me.Microsoft since their beginnings have constantly foisted inadequately tested new versions of their software on to their users and this will crucify them when XP support finishes next year and droves of Users migrate to Open Source, Apple, Anything But Microsoft.I recall IBM in their once glory days had a similar attitude.

Me too - thought it was Chrome that had the problem, so tried it on Firefox and IE, but still the same. Completely irritating!

May I suggest that you try out and get to know something about your replacement system before you are forced to do so. If you are considering a move to free Open Source Software it should be easy for the ordinary user but there are many more administration options available. I use the Debian distribution of Linux, and there are more than 36,500 ready to install packages available with the new stable version.www.chrisbell.org.uk

Thanks Chris. I am considering Ubuntu however will also look at Debian Linux.

Ubuntu and Debian are basically similar, although not totally interchangeable immediately, because Ubuntu was originally based on Debian and they share many of the developers. However Ubuntu are prepared to cut some corners to make it easier for new users in ways that could make it less secure for advanced or business use. That does not mean that Debian is difficult to use. I have my own local mirror of the Debian amd64, arm, i386 and sourcecode software, updated overnight every night, if anyone would like a copy to an external drive and save themselves a considerable amount of time downloading nearly 400 GB, I have put some information on my websitewww.chrisbell.org.uk
