That guy used to irritate the bejesus out of me.I don't object to being called 'mate', per se.Tim at English Butchers calls me 'mate' all the time and it is fine because of how he says it.He is welcoming and pleased you are there- we have a chat and it is a pleasant experience.When Snotty-Emo-Dude at Lavelli's says 'mate' there was a tacit 'what the hell do you want' behind it.It was a tone/manner/demeanour problem for me, rather than his use of the word 'mate'.He was simply rude and arrogant, plus lazy.Also he'd go out for a fag and come back, not wash his hands.Consequently I stopped going to Lavelli's for a while because I couldn't be bothered with the attitude.Hopefully they dealt with the situation, otherwise there are other cafe's and bakers in the area I'll go to.
