What an incredible woman. Her bravery yesterday in confronting the two attackers in Woolwich was truly amazing and may well have prevented further acts of sheer animal brutality.There was a second woman who cradled the young soldier. I dont think I could have shown such bravery facing these 2 monsters.I do hope they get some form of public recognition for their deeds.

I wouldn't walk away in such circumstances. I'd run away as fast as my arthritic knees could carry me!

An absolute hero in my eyes  - may I just say a big bow down to women - it was a woman that sat by the guy who had been stabbed  and prayed for him ,a woman who had the guts to confront the attackers  , and a woman who put a stop to the idiots  by shooting them - what were the men doing ?  Filming on their mobile phones !!! - women I salute you - if I ever have the bad luck to be confronted by an idiots like the ones the other day I hope I act like a girl !!

Me too Susan! I would rather take flight in such circumstances.My goodness those ladies were brave, they deserve some sort of recognition, even though sadly there was nothing they could do to help the poor soldier.May he rest in peace. What is this world coming to?

Fully agree.The media often use the word 'brave' to describe people who've endured situations they had no choice to be in.Ingrid could easily have been killed or taken hostage.  Hers s a truly brave act. If that were a scene from a movie, people would saying 'it couldn't happen in real life'Please also keep in your thoughts, the family and friends of Lee Rigby, the soldier, murdered.

While I have a sneaking admiration for those women, if I'm being honest, I think they were reckless. They could have been killed, taken hostage or used as human shields when the Armed Response Unit got there, all of which would have made a bad situation much worse.

I have an open and enthusiastic admiration for the women, and hope I would have done the same. They didn't know the victim was dead, they tried to help. The  woman who engaged with the assailants may have stopped them killing someone else - talking to them was a brave and clever way of holding their attention while help came. If everyone only thought of the potential danger to themselves this would be a much poorer world. Let's celebrate our heroes and heroines!
