Pelican Crossing, PLEASE, for Acton Town Tube Station, Bollo Lane Entrance

I would really like to see the removal of the two zebra crossings (an island in the middle means they are separate crossings, not that many people seem to be aware of this) and the mass stampede in the morning and evening makes traffic build up so bad.  Surely a traffic light crossing would make traffic move faster and pedestrian crossing safer!  Any thoughts?

I totally agree. The cars don't get a chance as there is a constant stream of pedestrians at rush hour.

Totally disagree. It was worse before and maybe this will be an encouragement for people to walk their kids to school instead of drive?

I too think its much better with a roundabout and zebra than it was with lights before.

The pelican crossing was removed for a trial period some time back to assess the impact on the flow of traffic. Flow demonstrably improved and the trial was made permanent. More importantly, it's much better for pedestrians, who used to form massive tailbacks and pavement congestion during the rush hour when the lights were there to stop them crossing.
