South downs walking project 3rd stage

We had a wonderful walk yesterday. From Eastbourne over the Seven sisters and lunch at the National Trust cafe and the Birling gap. Bright sunshine, bluebells still around, plenty of daisies, buttercups and cowslips now taking over. Wonderful views over the sea and the snow white chalk cliffs. Who wants to walk the third stage with us.Sunday 8th June?that is in two weeks time. We will be walking to Southease, with a pause in Alfreston, arguably the prettiest village on the South Downs.  Note to new readers. This project aims to walk the whole of the South Downs way in a series of day trips. Each walk will average 10 miles, as the whole walk is about 100 miles. Anyone is welcome to walk one or more of the stretches. PM me if interested.

Several people have been in touch so it looks like a larger group for the next stage. Just in case anyone else might like to come, but is concerned they might have to drive, we take the train. Southern do a special on line ticket called the Downlander which costs about fourteen pounds and covers the train from main line stations plus the buses you might need to get to the start/finish of the walk. Easy journey. The South Downs Way has its own website with lots of photos and information if you are just interested.

I've walked the South Downs Way and I cannot recommend it highly enough to anyone. Great idea to do it in manageable stages. The website is also excellent.
