"Streetwatcher" complaint goes ignored for 3 weeks!

I am a Streetwatcher and I emailed the Council 3 weeks ago to complain about the weeds on the pavements and in the gutters (it seems to be far worse this year than previously - utter neglect compared to the previous Council).  I've had no response whatsoever.  No acknowledgment at all so I emailed them again a week ago.....still nothing.I've also email about other matters and those emails were answered.  Anyone else having this problem?

That's very unusual to not get a response.  Did you put your streetwatcher number in the email?  And did you ask for a job reference number?

They always give a job reference number, if they acknowledge the email.  As you say, its unusual although, what I've noticed of late, their response isn't as quick as it used to be.  Perhaps this is something to do with the merger of departments?  I hope not.  It was a wonderful system and efficiently run by the Manager/co-ordinator.  I just hoping there is an explanation other than this.  I've also copied in the manager now, twice.Yes, I put my streetwatcher number in the subject field, as always.:-(

I have e-mailed twice in the last few weeks and have had quick responses, so it seems very odd that your e-mails are going unanswered. I did have a similar problem a few years ago, but an e-mail to Susan Wyatt sorted it out.I do find that the time they take to actually action the job now takes a lot longer, once you could report a problem and it would be dealt with by 5 pm the next working day, but now it takes nearly a week.Have you tried phoning 'Streetwatchers'?

2 weeks ago a young man was operating weed control equipment in Goldsmith Avenue.  He was on his mobile telephone the whole way up the Avenue, so the effectiveness of the work he was being paid for must be in question.But some of the weeks are brown, so he must have been doing something!

I reported a loose hydrant in Churchfield Road- down which I had ricked my ankle - on the Monday morning to Streetwatchers. Highways had inspected it by mid-afternoon and promised a repair within in five days. ANd reported back twice.I haven't been to see if it was done...but if it was, that's pretty stunning.

The reason for that is that you could make a claim on the Council -  that is why they acted so speedily.

They do tend to act swiftly if there is a possibility of someone making a claim for injury. This happened to me when I tripped on an uneven paving stone in Ealing Broadway.I certainly didn't want to claim or anything but they contacted me a few times, even wanted to take me to Ealing to point out the faulty pavement!The response from Streetwatchers is normally quite fast, although I can remember a couple of occasionsa while ago where I had to send a reminder.
