Park+Bridge

Interesting story behind the new wine shop in Churchfield Road written by the owner wearing her "blogging" hat. http://www.sipswooshspit.com/index.php/2013/05/parkandbridge/Personally speaking, every time I go in there it seems to be bustling and we've tasted and bought (and thoroughly enjoyed) wines that I would never have considered buying (even if I had ever heard of them). We've even been steered towards cheaper wines than we were planning on buying (because it went better with the Thai food we were planning on ordering in). The girls are all knowledgeable and very friendly - women running a wine shop, whatever next! :)

I agree the shop is great - but really, David, your final sentence! Honestly! I never even realised it was such a breakthrough for feminism.  By the way are the knowledgeable and friendly "girls" the same as the "women" who run it?  Are you really Sepp Blatter in disguise?

Sorry - having had a conversation with them about the stuffy men in red trousers  who tend to run shops like this, it was meant entirely in jest. I was hoping one of them would see it. No offence intended. Honest!

Aaah come on Anne it was clearly said in jest as indicated by the smiley.  I think David and Sara must be related to Pollyanna,  wish I was not so bitter!  But I digress Park and Bridge does look great.  That little stretch of shops is rather nice,  such a shame that in Acton they need to pull the shutters down at night and cover the shop fronts.

Sorry I didn't reply earlier. Us girls were too busy cleaning and dusting, in case we got above our station....! :))I'm so glad you'e liked the wines you've bought and tried so far. We've had such a lovely welcome in Churchfield Road.

Owners have done a phenomenal job with the shop. Was impressed to see that they are attracting custom from locals and non-locals alike.

Anne - I'm also assuming David was having a little fun here. As the only man on the team and being a part timer who is also deputy head of dusting at Park+Bridge, I think his comments were really meant ironically to underline the fact that generally there seem to be an awful lot of RAH RAH men in wine who think the "girls" are only there to sell pink fizz and sherry to. Me, I do what I'm told by my (smart, strong, capable) elders and betters.
