We Love Acton on Facebook

There is a lovely Facebook page called "We Love Acton".  Lots of long time Acton residents posting wonderful old pictures, memories, etc. Well worth adding if you are on Facebook.  Some are hilarious, many poignant and all are positive.

Almost all the FIRST posts are positive - actually, if you read some of the longer threads, it can be quite uncomfortable.It's really - or seems to me - for people who went to school in Acton between about 1960 and 1990.They organise re-unions too = which always look very successful.

Anne,I don't think Sara was making a negative swipe, just stating her opinion of the We Love Acton Facebook site. That is what the forum is about isn't it, sharing our thoughts and opinions whether others agree with them or not?Sorry but I agree with Sara, it does seem to be a place for those who went to school in Acton to reminisce about the old days. I have lived in Acton over 30 years but didn't go to school here. Also like to point out some of the really old photos have been 'borrowed' from another website without permission!

Absolutely wasn't making a "negative swipe" at all. There are varying opinions of 'I love Acton' - a page I enjoy, but can see reservations about. And Amanda is right- there are concerns about some of the photos...that must be true of any reminiscence site presumably.Can't bounce with Pollyanna-ish optimism ALL the time.
