Dear all. I have been asked if I can help publicise a free debt advice course run by Christians Against Poverty. It is being held at St Dunstan's Church in Friars Place Lane. If you know of someone interested in attending (it is aimed at local residents), contact details are below. RegardsHitesh TailorLabour Councillor for East ActonCabinet Member for Housing, Employment & Skills“Christians Against Poverty (CAP) is a national charity which helps people deal with issues of debt and aims to empower them by providing debt advice with the aim of enabling them to become debt free. CAP operates debt centres through local churches including one based in Acton. While CAP is a Christian charity it is important to understand that its services are offered freely to people of all faiths or no faith.“Part of the work of CAP is also to help people avoid getting in to debt in the first place and also to provide the tools for anyone who wants to have better control of their finances. This work is carried out through the CAP Money Course which is run through local churches. You do not have to disclose details of your personal finances unless you want to and the course will equip you to bring your finances under control without assistance if you wish to. If you still can’t manage to bring your finances under control after attending the course then you will be given confidential access to debt advice from CAP without anyone else knowing“St Dunstan’s East Acton is running at CAP Money Course for anyone who is interested in attending.
