Cafe in North Acton playing fields

Hi All..Was playing tennis in the North Acton playing fields last week & had a coffee & panini at Spencer's cafe opposite, I have to say it was really enjoyable. It's newly opened after the building was forced to close,due to subsidence.sure it's basic but it does the job plus there's a kids play area,decent coffee & freshly made panini,cakes & Ice cream - it's also quite a nice place to just sit in the garden & sip a coffee.. spoke to the guy who runs it ,he says business is dire,as no locals seem to visit even the park & will close due to lack of visitors which would be a shame.. I'm really not being paid to say this but 'We as a community need to support these kind of entrepreneurial local businesses' or they close quickly.. I've been back several times with the children too.. can't fault it really. Worth a try.. Peter Jones

Greatto hear that the cafe has such good coffee. Surely dog walkers, tennis players, parents with children could all do with a lovely little treat.I wonder if flyers at West Acton station might not broaden the customer base? Thanks for bringing it to our attention Peter. I will be along myself soon.

Yep, badly needed great addition to the park, just needs more publicity.

When they first opened I used to go with the family, however I found it annoying that they wouldn't keep to their advertised opening times. I'd arrange to meet friends only to find they were over an hour late opening up. Hopefully they're now better at time keeping.

Seemingly not.Went to meet some other people there this morning and still not open at 10:25 am.This business is not going to survive.

Such a shame. I used to meet a friend for a run around the park. After a good few laps we would have loved to go for a drink, but they were never open. We would have been very regular customers!
