New Rubbish Tip Opened in South Acton

It's called the South Acton Recreation down Bollo Bridge Road.Well that's what it looks like for the past three weeks or are the Park cleaners on summer vacation!

I think the park bins-everywhere, not just there, should be emptied at night before the gates are locked. Stops the squirrels and foxes etc dragging everything out across the park.

I think the provision of bins in Acton parks is inadequate.There are simply not enough and the few that are there are overflowing. Why cant the council provide large lidded bins at the park gates so people can dispose of the remnants of their picnics and keep them out of the reach of foxes squirrels and crows. I walk my dog in the park very early  just as the park crews arrive and it is disgusting. It would help if the bins were emptied at closing time but the guys in charge start their shift very early in the morning and finish around 3.

Any waste bins should be lidded.  I have watched a crow pulling a carrier bag of leftovers out of a bin in a park and the other night I was woken up at 3am in the morning because a fox was dragging a carrier bag someone had left out into the middle of the road to safely eat whatever it had found there.Isn't there a recycling bin on the way out of the park for cans and bottles and plastic bottles?  Some sort of Recycling-on-the-Go container - similar to some here:http://www.letsrecycle.com/news/latest-news/general/lnewsitem.2013-07-10.8482361408

Ealing has recycling bins at the entrance of some parks but not us!

Something to ask for then.  Most of these things appear nowadays to be the result of applying for grants.The nice ones in the link I posted were a grant from WRAP.But whatever it is it has to be something that somebody will be able to empty (and not have the wrong lorry/van/whatever for).

There are no fences or gates at the South Acton Rec. It's common land. But there are plenty of animal-proof bins for litter. And plenty of recycling bins just over the road. The problem is the sociopaths and their ignorant progeny who think it's OK to drop litter. It's really not the Council's job to instil basic civilised behaviour in its residents and users of its amenities.

lots cans  by  the  bench  this  morning plus  someone  left  black  bags  by  the  bin near  bollo bridge  road  all  ripped open  rubbish  everywhere they  have put new bins in  around the park but ur right never seems to get picked  this  part of  acton  is all ways  forgotten

Unfortunately there are some people who have trouble with the quantity of their waste (usually those who don't separate it at all) and they are the most likely dumpers and they often choose the pavement and beside recycling bins.It isn't always a good idea to have more bins.We always used to picnic in places that had no bins and we had to take our rubbish home with us - we expected to do this and we did it.
